About
Background, interests, and direction.
I grew up in Marin County, just north of San Francisco. Growing up, Mt. Tam and abundant nature were all around me. I was outside constantly, and that is where my interest in the environment actually started.
At Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, that interest became more analytical. My coursework in Economics and Environmental Studies, along with a minor in Finance, gave me a way to think carefully about how markets and the environment fit together. Outside of class, I have been involved with the Whitman Investment Company, including the Finance Accelerator and the Investment Banking Competition, which have pushed me to sharpen my thinking on valuation, deal structure, and how to present an idea under pressure. A liberal arts education has also taught me to move across disciplines and get up to speed quickly, which has carried into my work in finance, strategy, and business decision-making.
Professionally, I have worked on finance and sales operations at G3 Enterprises, finance and feasibility analysis with Perca, and M&A research at Unsal Partners. Across those roles, I have been drawn to work that mixes structured thinking with real business problems, especially in industries where the analysis is still being figured out.
Going forward, I want to keep working at the overlap of finance, strategy, and climate. Venture capital and climate tech sit right in that space, and that is where I want to keep building. Over time, I want to grow into an investor and analyst whose work is practical and tied to the industries shaping the next few decades.
Outside of work, I captain the Whitman Alpine Ski Team and serve as Vice President of Phi Delta Theta, and I spend as much time outdoors as the season allows. I also try to keep learning from people doing interesting things in investing and climate.
